The Fair of Bologna

The Fair of Bologna is one of the most important fairs in Italy, with its 375,000 square meters divided into 260,000 square meters of exhibition area and 180,000 square feet for 18 pavilions. The Fiera di Bologna is very ancient and rich traditions, it began in the nineteenth century for hosting the very first time "The Great Exhibition Emiliana" in 1888, where the opening was attended by eminent personalities like of King Umberto I and his wife Margaret of Savoy and then the Italian Francesco Crispi.

The first shows the sample dates in 1901 instead. The Fair is located in Bologna Quartiere San Donato in Bologna in the north near the bypass, and therefore very easy to achieve, over the decades, especially in recent times, the Fair has been expanded with the construction of new pavilions and new exhibition spaces, in particular the big change in modern renovation occurred in 1972 through the Japanese architect Kenzo Tange who were also commissioned works in other cities as the construction of skyscrapers, today seat of the region Emilia Romagna.

In 2002, the Ente Autonomo Fiera di Bologna was privatized and then was transformed into a society SpA in fact a system that controls a very important exhibition consists of three exhibition areas: Bologna, Ferrara and Modena. Speaking of numbers, in 2008, the Fiera di Bologna hosted 30 exhibitions and national well-13 international.

The most important events that take place regularly every year are: Cersaie International exhibition of the construction industry, Saie Salon International building, Motor Show, an international automotive exhibition, Cosmoprof International exhibition of the cosmetics industry, Lamiera -- machine tool trade fair organized by UCIMU - Systems for producing, pairing Italian machine tool builders, Art Fair - International Fair of Contemporary Art.
